ShowertimeShe'd always say, "Showers are a time for rest," and refused to stand up like a rational person. She'd sit indian style, letting the water hit her in the hollow between her legs, head bent over to recieve the flow. And the water, of course, was set to cool as it traveled down. Standing over her I had to condition myself to scalding water and paying the outrageous water bills. When she did take a bath, however, she was restless. She always brought a book in to keep her company. That was how you'd know her favorites: you'd count the layers of water damage along the bottom, where it had grazed the top of the bath. Showertime
